Le Bossu

It has a long scar on its back, in front of the dorsal fin. Its name comes from the bumps ("bosses" in French) at each end of the scar.

U2

U2's curved dorsal fin has a notch at the base. This whale can be identified by a series of small scars on the back and a big white spot on the left side.

Zipper

She has an enormous zipper-shaped scar on her right flank. We observed her for the first time in 1994 with this fresh wound, inflicted by a boat propeller.

Capitaine Crochet

We have been photographing this whale since 1994. She is often one of the first arrivals at the beginning of the season and is easily recognizable by her hook-shaped dorsal fin and highly contrasted chevron.
