Le BossuIt has a long scar on its back, in front of the dorsal fin. Its name comes from the bumps ("bosses" in French) at each end of the scar. |
U2U2's curved dorsal fin has a notch at the base. This whale can be identified by a series of small scars on the back and a big white spot on the left side. |
ZipperShe has an enormous zipper-shaped scar on her right flank. We observed her for the first time in 1994 with this fresh wound, inflicted by a boat propeller. |
Capitaine CrochetWe have been photographing this whale since 1994. She is often one of the first arrivals at the beginning of the season and is easily recognizable by her hook-shaped dorsal fin and highly contrasted chevron. |
